Abstract

Objective: to analyze nursing intervention in the administration of sedoanalgesia in critically ill patients. Methods: Systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and Conclusion: Critically ill patients may experience complications that manifest themselves through acute pain produced by the effect of the action of risk factors that contribute to its appearance and persistence, thus requiring airway support, stabilization of acute or life-threatening medical problems; comprehensive management of injuries and/or diseases and improvement of the conditions of dying patients. This, together with the pain caused by the procedures performed in the ICU may justify the intervention by means of sedoanalgesia as a technique for the adequate management of patient pain.
