Objective: to analyze the nursing care associated with the epicutaneous catheter in the neonatal intensive care unit. Method: Documentary descriptive. Results and conclusions: The health personnel who work in the neonatology service must constantly look for scientific and current updates, so that they are always prepared to act in any circumstance that arises, caring for neonates with hemodynamic instability and their great ability to make immediate decisions in a given time.
