Nursing care in the prevention of infections within intensive care units

Objective: to analyze nursing care in the precaution of contaminations within intensive care units. Method: Documentary descriptive. Results and conclusion: Handwashing is the fastest, cheapest, and most effective method of stopping the spread of hospital-acquired infections, and yet it is also the leading practice not adhered to by healthcare workers. This is a problem that affects public health worldwide. Health workers have low adherence to protocols, both hygiene and hand washing.
