Nursing approach to the family member of the critically ill patient

Objective: to analyze the nursing approach to the family member of the critically ill patient. Method: The research was based on the documentary review of 15 articles published in PubMed for 5 years. Results and conclusion: The nursing approach to the family member of the critically ill patient was identified, the results of which indicate that the nursing staff must establish a closer relationship with the family members of the critically ill patient in order to cover the needs of the family, such as the emotional needs where support should be provided since the family feels vulnerable.
