Abstract

Objective: to determine the incidence of Pressure Ulcers in pediatric patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Method: Bibliographic review of articles published from 2016 to 2022. Results and conclusion: Intensive Care Units patients are the most vulnerable to acquiring a pressure ulcer due to multiple manifestations, therefore reports of higher incidence and prevalence are evident. It was also determined that pressure ulcers in pediatric Intensive Care patients are due to lack of knowledge of the professionals when acting, and that the lack of knowledge of the nursing staff such as decision-making and clinical intervention based on their experience labor.
