University Education for the Elderly as a Continuous Learning Process

Abstract

The main purpose of this research was to determine university education for the elderly, as a continuous learning process. The scenario the experimental National University "Francisco de Miranda" medical program. At the Bolivarian University of Venezuela, a degree in social communication, and Mission Sucre, University Village "Cesar Augusto Agreda" based in the City of Santa Ana de Coro, Falcón State. The research paradigm is the interpretative, qualitative method of ethnographic research, with the participation of 3 key informants, university seniors. The methodology used for the collection of the information was made up of the technique of observation, the interview and the instruments, notebook and recorder. Results were: A high ratio of the elderly, university and national policy, allowing the accessibility of this vulnerable age group biopsychosocially to the ranks of university education, in turn it is recommended the design and execution of educational strategies aimed at satisfying the learning needs in older adults.
