Endodontics in a single appointment

Objective: To highlight the considerations and implications of each treatment trend, if endodontics is feasible in one appointment referring to the elimination of microorganisms; in one appointment or several sessions. Referring to a successful or unsuccessful response respectively. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: The various studies show that endodontics or root canal therapy is a procedure that treats the inside of a damaged tooth to preserve its function, the surrounding bone and gums with the aim of maintaining a natural and healthy smile without the need for tooth extraction. This technique is implemented for a variety of reasons, including deep decay, trauma or periodontal disease resulting in pulp involvement. Endodontic treatment may also be recommended for teeth that require large sizes for the subsequent placement of crowns or bridges.
