Abstract

Objective: To analyze the efficacy of the Stepwise technique in teeth with deep caries. Method: Systematic review. The search was carried out in the PubMed research database, obtaining a population of 15 articles. Conclusion: Stepwise is one of the most used and recommended techniques for the removal of deep caries compared to other methods that have the same purpose. This is because this technique is much more conservative for pulp exposure. This technique presents a high percentage of success in its effectiveness being 74 to 92%.
