Abstract

Objective: To identify the effects of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia) on oral health. Method: Bibliographic and descriptive. Conclusion: Eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia, are due to the behavioral alterations of certain people, who with the desire to achieve an acceptable image before society, fall into depressive states of anxiety, which leads them to eat excessively and then induce vomiting, damaging their digestive system and oral health, The dryness in their mouth due to the scarce production of saliva that allows the bacterial plaque to act as a barrier against possible diseases such as gingivitis and periodontitis, in the same way due to the deficient strength of the maxillary bones the most serious effect can be the loss of dental pieces.
