Nursing intervention in patients with decompensated chronic lung disease

Objective: Prepare a nursing care plan to improve care for patients with COPD in the Internal Medicine Isolation Area at Ambato General Hospital. Method: The research was of a non-experimental design; as techniques we have the survey and the survey guide. Results and conclusions: It was found that 56% were male patients; the main symptoms they presented were viscous sputum, 100%, productive cough, 70%, and exertional dyspnea, 60%. The main risk factors were 90% due to respiratory infections, 90%; patients who smoked tobacco 70%. Regarding the knowledge of the care that nurses should have with patients, it was evidenced that 75% of them should reinforce them. It was proposed to carry out a care plan that will allow nurses to acquire knowledge regarding COPD care.
