Quality of care in public and private geriatric centers. Case: Ibarra. Ecuador

Objective: To determine the quality of care in public and private geriatric centers in the city of Ibarra - Ecuador. Method: Descriptive observational. Conclusion: Regarding the quality of care in geriatric centers, the public geriatric center, although it does not have the necessary economic resources, is adequately adapted to the needs of the elderly, and on the contrary, the private geriatric center has the economic resources, but is not completely adequate to the needs of the elderly. It can be seen that the quality of care in both public and private geriatric centers is good, but nevertheless it is perceived that in the public geriatric center the care and treatment by the professional staff was more satisfactory than in the private one.
