A retrospective study of oral pathologies in pediatric patients

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the prevalence of dental pathologies in patients aged 1 to 16 years who sought care in the period April 2015 - August 2019. Method: Review of medical records. Conclusion: According to the procedures applied the most performed during the study period were: fluoridation with 22.5%, prophylaxis with 22.4%, and the least frequent fixed prosthesis with 0.1%. In relation to age, 1562 fluorizations were performed in the 6 to 10 years age group; in the 1 to 5 years age group 693 glass ionomers were performed, and in the 11 to 16 years age group 1401 cases of simple resins were performed. According to the analysis by tooth, the teeth with the highest number of pathologies is tooth 46 with 9.81%, followed by 36 with 9.64%.
