Epidemiological profile of congenital malformations in neonatology department

Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of congenital malformations in the neonatology service. Methods: Review of clinical histories in the neonatology service of the Ambato general hospital - Ecuador. Conclusion: An analysis was made of the maternal ages of the newborns studied with congenital malformations, with a higher prevalence in ages between 20 and 34 years with an affectation of 14 mothers corresponding to 77.77% and only 4 mothers older than 35 years were affected, giving 22.22%, data that are similar to those of another research study.
