Abstract

Objective: To determine the most predominant risk factors for preterm delivery in patients of the Hospital General Latacunga and thus take preventive measures to detect these risk factors in a timely manner.  Method: Clinical history. Results: Of the 10 patients who presented risk factors for preterm delivery, 50% suffered from diabetes mellitus, 30% presented malnutrition due to defect and 20% presented traumatism. Conclusion: Preterm birth is an important health problem worldwide because it generates neonatal mortality and morbidity during childhood, besides being one of the most serious problems in gynecology and obstetrics because in extreme cases it leads to maternal death, so it represents a problem of social transcendence, with great repercussions on both the health and economic systems.
