Abstract

Objective: To elaborate a nursing care plan for patients of the "Hospital General Latacunga" in contact isolation, carriers of multidrug resistant infections. Methods: Descriptive observational study. The 53.33% responded that contact isolation is indicated for infections by multidrug-resistant bacteria, the highest incidence of isolated patients had the diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Conclusion: It was possible to identify the ausal agent of the infections and drug resistance by means of a culture of secretions where there was a higher incidence of tuberculosis followed by cellulitis, the most frequent causative agents being Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes group A, with greater resistance to cephalosporins and aminoglycosides.
