Abstract

Objective: To analyze the perceptions of the use of personal protective equipment and work stress in a road construction company in the city of Riobamba, Ecuador, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Descriptive observational study. Results: Although exposure to occupational stress is so small, reaching only 25% of the population, it is sufficient to establish relationships between gender and physiological symptoms; marital status with physiological symptoms; seniority with behavioral symptoms; work area with physiological symptoms; and location of the work area with behavioral symptoms. Conclusion: Workers whose job is not fixed and who are subject to active works inside and outside the province are at a higher risk of suffering from social behavioral symptoms.
