Abstract

Objective: To determine the level of knowledge on the part of parents about the oral care of their children in order to instill in the population a clear idea about the importance of dental guards for a correct nutritional, esthetic and phonetic development under only the application of sealants in the oral cavities of their children. Methods: Descriptive observational study. Results: 60.7% of the parents did not take their children to the dentist for prevention because they were afraid of exposing their children's health due to the COVID-19 viral health emergency. Conclusion: The use of pit and fissure sealants in children both in primary teeth or commonly called "milk teeth" and in the permanent dentition. Suggesting a previous revision before placing pit and fissure sealants so as not to overlook the processes of infections and affections.
