Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the development of mathematical teaching skills in primary education. Methodologically, the research was based on the positivist paradigm and a descriptive quantitative approach. The technique used was a survey, and the instrument a questionnaire with closed questions, which had a reliability of 0.80. The sample consisted of 100 practicing mathematics teachers in primary education. The results confirmed that the application of teaching strategies for mathematics practice, based on play, ICT, and active participation, among others, promoted meaningful learning among primary school children. In conclusion, mathematical teaching skills enabled the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the learning process for students, promoting their comprehensive development.
