The research aims to determine the relationship between managerial leadership and teaching performance at the secondary level of public educational institutions in Peru. Methodologically it was based on a basic, descriptive research with a non-experimental cross-sectional design, the research sample was made up of 24 directors and 72 teachers who work in the 15 public educational institutions of the Pachacamac district. Pearson's “r” is 0.826, this is considered a strong positive correlation, so the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The role of managers in this practice plays an important role since they are the ones who will guide the pedagogical practices to achieve the commitments for school improvement, so good teaching performance is related to good pedagogical and methodological practice allowing that students enjoy the teaching-learning process.
