Intellectual property rights of creations generated by artificial intelligence in Ecuador

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the intellectual property rights of creations generated by artificial intelligence in Ecuador. The research procedure developed in this investigation was based on the quantitative approach, resorting to the documentary-bibliographic typology, which allows establishing the analysis of the object of study. The material approached consisted of graduate theses, laws and refereed works and thus discovering characteristics and relationships in order to determine the scope of the current regulations on intellectual property in relation to the ownership granted by the same to its authors. It is concluded that the Constitution of Ecuador has the duty to recognize and guarantee the right to property in a general sense and to recognize them in each of the types established in article 321, which in turn establishes the protection and recognition of intellectual property.
