Objective: to identify the health affections presented by pyrotechnic artisans of San José de Chimbo due to exposure to chemical agents up to June 2022. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results and Conclusion: It is identified that 60% of the artisans, despite not knowing the chemical name, know that the products they handle can react under certain conditions; and only the remaining 4% of artisans have no information on this subject; while 98% of the artisans who responded that they do not know the maximum allowed limit for the substances they work with, the group with the highest percentage corresponds to the area of flyers with 36%; while the remaining 2% belong to the main artisans who answered affirmatively. Taking into consideration that the most common health conditions are usually related to burns, loss of sight or hearing, due to incorrect handling by the manufacturer.
